James D. Hook, B.S., MPH
Mr. James D. Hook has over 40 years of healthcare executive management and consulting experience in medical groups, hospitals, IPA’s, MSO’s, and other healthcare organizations.
Professional experience includes appointments as Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer at acute care hospitals and integrated physician networks; and executive leadership positions in medical groups, and management services organizations. Mr. Hook has also managed many compliance, accreditation, certification and other regulatory inspections for hospitals and outpatient settings, partial hospitalization and urgent care/outpatient surgery center operations. He has also served as a Corporate Compliance Officer for clients for several years.
Areas of special focus are best practices operations in physician practices and medical groups, including specialty and sub-specialties, market research, healthcare delivery systems, contract negotiations, and Stark law compliance. He provides executive leadership in strategic planning processes, program implementation, financial forecasting, EHR selection & implementation, ROI and financial impact evaluations. Mr. Hook has completed many HIPAA Risk Assessments; Corporate Compliance audits; medical documentation, billing, and coding reviews; and is a lead consultant for our Independent Review Organization audits.
In addition to his BS degree from the U.S. Naval Academy and a graduate degree in Health Services Management from UCLA, he is a Diplomat of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
