Provider Eligibility to Participate in EHR Incentives in the HITECH Act
The federal government is ready to spend over $17 billion dollars on incentive payouts in its monumental push to entice providers to adopt the use of electronic health records (EHR) and 
to use such systems in a manner which meets specific criteria spelled out under it’s rules for “meaningful use“. However, not all providers of outpatient services are eligible for participation in this EHR incentive program. There are in fact some rather strict rules that are applied.
